PfeilFAQÜbersichtWhat is an authinfo code?

An authinfo code is an alphanumeric code that can be up to 16 characters long. It prevents an unauthorized person from being able to transfer a .info/biz/org/us/name domain name.

A new, unique authinfo code is generated after each new registration and generated again after each successful domain transfer. It isn't possible to transfer a domain name to another registrar without this authinfo code. Please make sure to not allow anyone else access to your domain name's authinfo code.

If an authinfo code is invalid or you have other problems with it, please contact the customer service department of the current registrar of the domain name.
